Administration

The main function of the Administration is to oversee the various departments, programs and services of the Scw’exmx Tribal Council. Each department develops an annual operational plan with its goals, objectives, and projected budget. The Executive Director then ensures that these goals and objectives are completed, and that the organization adheres to the budget approved by the Board of Directors and ultimately our member nations. The Administration organizes Board of Directors meetings, the Annual General Meeting, the production of the annual report, and the development of the annual budget for the Scw’exmx Tribal Council. Additionally, the administration will oversee the completion and implementation of the 5-year strategic plan, which has been under development since March 2024 and is projected to be completed by July 2024.

The Administration provides communication and liaison with the elected leadership, band staff, as well as Provincial and Federal officials. The Scw’exmx Tribal Council also meets with other First Nation organizations and the City of Merritt, as we are residents of the Nicola Valley, and our offices are located within the city limits and within the shared territories of the Nlaka’pamux and Syilx people.
